DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE

Discover what God has designed you for through a series of questions.

SOME BACKGROUND

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF LIFE AND TRUE SUCCESS? To personally know the only true God, and Yeshua whom He sent (John 17:3). There is only one way—no one comes to the Father except through Yeshua (John 14:6). For more information on how, click here.

WHAT IS OUR ULTIMATE PURPOSE? To love Him and have a personal relationship with the Father for eternity (Matt. 22:37–38; Rev. 21:3; Rom. 8:15)

WHAT IS A FOLLOWER OF YESHUA CALLED TO DO? To share what Yeshua has done for us with others and teach them to obey what He commanded (Matt. 28:18–20).

WHAT IS YOUR VISION? Using gifts, talents, and unique abilities to carry out the mission. Your vision varies by individual, as not everyone is called to be an apostle, pastor, evangelist, teacher, or prophet. Visions may change over time. Goals are established based on the vision. For example, the Apostle Peter’s vision was to bring the message to the Jews, whereas Paul’s was to the Gentiles (Gal. 2:7; Rom. 15:16). Others in the early church had visions such as: Teach and mentor new believers (Acts 14:21–22; 2 Tim. 2:2). Care for the vulnerable (Acts 6:1–4; 1 Tim. 5:3–16). Manage finances and resources for the Lord’s work (Phil. 4:15–16; 1 Cor. 16:1–2). Host gatherings in their homes (Rom. 16:5; 1 Cor. 16:19; Col. 4:15). Pray and intercede for others (Acts 1:14; Col. 4:12). They did not help others simply because they were nice; they did it in the name of Yeshua, ensuring that He received the glory. To get you started, here are 5-Steps to help identify what the Lord has created you for.

WHY IS HAVING A VISION IMPORTANT? Without a vision, we lose direction and purpose: “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18). A clear vision helps you stay focused on God’s calling, resist distractions such as offense, lust, envy, and love of money, and rely on Him fully. As Yeshua said: “The light of the body is the eye… No man can serve two masters” (Matt. 6:22–24). Writing the vision down helps create framework that others could join (Hab. 2:2)

5 STEPS TO IDENTIFY YOUR GOD-GIVEN VISION (S)

First’s thing first – Ask Your Heavenly Father to reveal your vision (Matt. 7:7-8) and to enable yourself to hear the Lord better –> Fast no food for at least 24 hours (Acts 13:2-4), or no food and water (Acts 9:9). Then answer the following questions in this order:

  1. Soul-Searching Questions

Write down at least 3-4 possibilities to each question:
    * Has God revealed something you are called to do through scripture, prayer, or dreams? If not, what do you think you are called to, or what areas do you excel in?
    * What have been the biggest problems you have overcome? (Mark 5:19)
    * What demographic of people are you called to, or what is it that you hate and want solved? (1 Sam. 17:26)
    * If you could do something each day and throughout the night, purely because you enjoy it, what would it be? (Matt. 25:40; Gal. 6:10)

  2. Drive Clarity

Circle the strongest answer for each question. In other words, the one you feel most passionate about (either excitement or anger). You should have 4 circled answers.

  3. Define 4 Visions

For each circled answer, write only 1–2 sentences on how you can use this to help others come to Yeshua or grow closer to Him.
Check: Make sure your visions do not go against God’s commandments.

  4. Select 2 Visions

Identify which of the 4 visions is the quickest to implement. Then determine which one you are most passionate about. You should have 2 visions selected. But if they are the same vision then ask the next question – which vision shows people the most care and love? If you still don’t have 2 visions then focus on the 1 you have.

  5. Goals Setting

For each of your 2 visions (or 1), set three goals that you can accomplish within the next month. Keep them realistic and achievable. Each day review them with the Lord in your morning prayer.

Now what? Always ask your Heavenly Father for guidance (Psa. 37:5; Prov. 3:4-9; Prov. 16:9), and acknowledge His help to others and therefore He will direct your path (Prov. 3:6).
